Venice
Venice is located in nothern Italy. The
city streches across 117 small islands in the marshy venetian Lagoon along the
adriatic Sea northeast Italy.
Venice
is famous for its canals. It can built on an archipelago of 117 islands by
about 150 canals in a shallow lagoon. The islands where the city is built are
conncted by 400 bridges. In the old center , the canals function as roads.
You
can ride gondola there, it is the classical Venetian boat which nowadays is
mostly used for tourists, weddings, funerals, or other ceremonies. Now, most
Venetations travel by motorized waterbuses which ply regular routes along the
major canals and among by the city;s islands. The city has many private boats.
The only gondola which is still in common used by Venetians is the Traghetti,
which is foot passengers ferried crossing the Grand Canals at certain points
without bridges.
