‘ ADA “
Untuk menyatakan suatu “ Existance “ atau adanya sesuatu, maka kita bisa
menggunakan kata
There + Auxilary verb ( kata kerja Bantu )
“ Two books are on the table now “ ( Dua buah buku diatas
meja sekarang )
Dari segi tata bahasa , kalimat diatas sudah benar, sebeb
sudah mempunyai subject dan predicate, namun jarang digunakan. Sebagai gantinya
, untuk menyatakan “adanya dua buah
diatas meja sekarang “ kita
katakan dengan :
“There are two books on the table now”. ( ada dua buah buku
diatas meja sekarang )
Dengan cara yang sama kita katakan :

is, there are, there was, there were dsb ny adalah jumlah benda dan keterangan
waktunya.
- jika tidak ada ketrangan waktu, kalimat selalu
dianggap dalam bentuk present tense.
